DSS boss appointment, Buhari’s action in order - Amb. Chukwu

By Henrietta Attah and Hafsat Abdullahi

The public outcry and controversy generated by the recent appointment of a new Director-General of the Department of State Security Services (DSSS), Yusuf Bichi, by President Muhammadu Buhari has been described as uncalled for, unnecessary, and ill motivated.

The National President of Progressive Youth Movement (PYM), Chief Ambassador Dr. Charles Chiadikaobi Chukwu who made this statement in Abuja during a media chart last week lamented what he described as “desperate attitude of Nigerians, especially the opposition, to politicize or sectionalize decisions and policy initiatives taken by President Muhammadu Buhari despite the President’s overall good intentions and broadmindedness in leadership.”

the International Business facilitator and Agro- economic expert who also doubles as President of Save Nigeria Project and Pro-Youth International Organisation was reacting to the negative utterances and condemnations trailing the appointment of Yusuf Bichi as the new Director-General of the DSSS.

According to Chukwu, “all those accusing President Buhari of nepotism are misguided individuals and agent provocateurs who are ignorant of vital security issues in the system.”

He added, President Muhammadu Buhari is seriously concerned about Nigeria’s security, and this fact compels him to take the most appropriate decisions and measures to ensure no compromise in the security sector. Nigerians should allow patriotism and nationalism to override primordial sentiments and sectional interests.”

The international business mogul also took the occasion to applaud “the show of bravery and respect for nationhood by the former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, who voluntarily resigned her appointment following the ugly events of her NYSC controversy.

Chukwu hailed her resignation as a proof of the high level integrity popular with the APC government led by President Buhari. He said that such voluntary resignation could only have happened in an APC government because of the exemplary leadership which President Buhari is bringing to Nigerians.

Chukwu whose laudable youth programs and initiatives have put things in place to ensure safer polls in the 2019 elections, has also put measures across government institutions to offer millions of unemployed Nigerian youth employment in the agricultural sector; and other empowerment avenues fashioned to enhance capacity building and individual business growth all over the country.
