2019: Youth coalition unites for Atiku

A Coalition of youth groups in Nigeria, under the aegis of Atiku Abubakar Youth Coalition, AYC, has met to discuss strategies for actualizing the 2019 Presidential ambition of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP.
Speaking at the inaugural session held in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the coalition, Barr. Onukwufor Stanley said the group was formed by Youth groups with a resolved mind set to change the status quo, with regards to Youth participation in the electoral process.
He added that the realities of our society and the condition Young People all over the country, especially at the grassroots where hunger and poverty have ravaged economy, leaves much to desired."
Onukwufor who is founder and Coordinator of Damnovitando Youth Initiative, said Nigeria like never before is now the country with the most impoverished population in the world with about 87 million poor citizens living under the global poverty indices $1:9 cents."
He noted that this is why we are here to ensure that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar wins the 2019 Presidential election, because we have lost hope in the current administration for obvious reasons."
Mr. Irem Akpu, of African Young Workers Welfare Initiative, a member of the coalition, who attended the meeting, hailed the efforts of the organisers for calling a physical meeting unlike some other groups that have confined their discussions to the social media without actions, social media does not vote during elections.
He said we have agreed on several strategies to ensure that we compliment what the Atiku Campaign, team is doing, because Nigeria is very large and we have state coordinators and we are leaving no stone unturned towards actualizing this mission.
