AANI Enugu gets new EXCO

A change of baton in the leadership of Alumni Association of National Institute (AANI) Enugu State Chapter occurred yesterday with members electing new executives that will pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years.
In keenly contested elections conducted by the National Publicity Secretary of AANI, Dr. Ogbonna Sam Onyeisi on the directives of the national body saw Dr. lfeanyi Okoye (OFR) mni and Mrs. Sylvia Onwubuemeli, mni emerge Chairman and Secretary respectively.
The election is coming on the heels of the expiration of tenure of Professor Onyema Ocheoha mni led executive. Dr Okoye emerged unopposed as Chairman after serving as Vice Chairman from 2015 to 2019.
It could be recalled that Prof. Ocheoha was elected in June 2015 and had completed two tenures allowed by the association’s Constitution.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Okoye who took members down memory lane narrated the history of his involvement with National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, (NIPSS) Kuru and AANI.
He said he felt it was a privilege being decorated as Member of the National Institute mni and urged every member to appreciate the honour of being nominated among millions of Nigerians to attend the course at NIPSS.
Okoye promised to do his best towards the realization of the Mission and Vision of AANI in conformity with its motto “Towards a Better Society”.
Other elected executive members for various positions in as announced by Dr. Onyeisi mni who happens to be a former secretary of the chapter were Dr. Patrick Emembolu Eze MON mni, Vice Chairman, Mr. Robinson Odo mni, Assistant Secretary, Mr. Patriot Okenwa mni, Financial Secretary, Dr Gabriel G.O.C. Ajah mni, Treasurer, Dr. Prince Christian Umoke. mni, Publicity Secretary, Dr Okey Onwuasigwe mni, Welfare/Social Secretary. AIG Osita Uyanna (Rtd) mni, Internal Auditor, and Dr (Bar) Chike Eneh mni, Legal Adviser.
The elected Executives of state Chapters of AANI have a two-year tenour and electable for another two years.
It is important to know that Enugu Chapter of AANI includes members of AANI in Ebonyi State.
