Sino-Nigeria Strategic partnership: When CPP President, Sun visited NNPC GMD



 



In a bid to strengthen China-Nigeria strategic partnership for mutual benefit, the President of China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., LTD (CPP) Mr. Sun Quanjun visited Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Mr. Mele Kolo Kyari to explore ways of deepening business relations for Win-Win Corporation. The fact remains that the flourishing friendship between China and Nigeria has continued to deepen with every generation and to further buttress this; Chinese companies have built a lot of developmental corridors in Nigeria.

As part of the quest to promote the development of Nigeria at a faster rate, Chinese has greatly impacted on Nigeria’s infrastructural development.

It was based on improving this critical infrastructure of progress that made President of China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., LTD (CPP) Mr. Sun Quanjun to lead his team to visit the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Mr. Mele Kolo Kyari in Abuja.



This happened in the afternoon of November 26th, Nigeria time. Mr. Sun who was accompanied by Mr. Sani, the Executive Vice Chairman of the BrentexCPP Consortium stressed during the meeting the cooperation and mutual benefits between China and Nigeria in oil and gas.

Mr. Sun also extended thanks to the partner company Brentex for joining hands together as BrentexCPP, making both sides stronger than either side could be.



It could be recalled that CPP was established in 1973 and is committed to building a world-class integrated oil and gas storage and transportation engineering service provider. The main business involves eight areas of onshore pipeline construction, offshore pipeline construction, oil and gas tank construction, pipeline technical service, communication and power facilities installation and operation, oilfield ground construction, LNG processing and receiving station construction, and refining equipment installation.

With a complete industrial chain from scientific research, consulting, financing, survey, design, procurement, construction, machinery manufacturing to production and maintenance, operation and repairment, with full life cycle construction management capabilities, it provides customers with "one package" solution and "one stop” comprehensive service.



Moreover, in the international market, the company has entered 46 countries and regions including Sudan, Iraq, Tanzania, Chad, Niger, Angola, Ghana, Kazakhstan, India, Thailand, Bangladesh, Argentina, etc., and has established solid foundations in the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and South East Asia.

The development platform is expanding to regional markets such as North America and Latin America. In the past 20 years, it has built 100,000 kilometers of oil and gas pipelines around the world, and it has extensive experience in full-scale pipeline construction in the desert and swamps. Adhering to the concept of openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation, the company has established strategic partnerships with more than 100 energy companies, financial institutions, research institutes and suppliers at home and abroad, and has basically formed a global resource allocation system.



However, in 2015, CPP formed a consortium with Brentex. In the past four years, they have worked closely together as partners in progress to reach today.

Mr. Sun also thanked Brentex for supporting CPP in Local Content and opening the door of market to Nigeria for CPP. Mr. Sun mentioned, in the future, that BrentexCPP consortium will gather the strengths of both parties and make every effort to continue to support the Local Content Policies.

At present, they plan to build a training center in Abuja to provide strong guarantees for the implementation of the AKK project and the follow-up market. CPP also hopes that NNPC will provide assistance and guidance.



While responding, Mr. Kyari expressed his gratitude to CPP for its preliminary work in the AKK project and said that CPP is an excellent international petroleum engineering enterprise with both professional skills and social responsibility.

He said that NNPC hopes to deepen cooperation and broaden development with international companies such as CPP.

Mr. Sun stated that CPP is very grateful to NNPC, especially Mr. Kyari, for the efforts in all aspects of the project, and he also emphasized that CPP will strive the best to utilize the most advantageous resources, complete the work on time and even early, and build the Nigeria AKK natural gas pipeline project into a model project that will be a benchmark project of Sino-Nigerian cooperation.

Both sides expressed that they will jointly stick to the win-win cooperation to create a splendid future for Nigeria and China friendship which is growing at a high rate.



It is important to note that Chinese has promoted highest China-Nigeria cooperation project which was the National Railway Reform. Sino-China relations have been long and the influence of China in the economic affairs of Africa is an open secret. There is presence of China in all aspect of life of Nigerian peoples, in their homes and even in their environment.

China no doubt has contributed immensely in lifting many people out of poverty and has turned confrontation to cooperation that is beneficial to Africa. With this new engagement in the Oil and gas, Nigerians have the conviction that a new chapter of development will be opened in the mainstay of their economy for mutual benefit and strategic advancement.
