Ukehe community set to honour illustrious sons, daughters in Abuja

The Ukehe community in Abuja under the auspices of Ukehe United Front which is an umbrella body for all Ukehe people resident in Abuja and its environ will on Sunday December 1, honour their sons and daughters that have distinguished themselves in their chosen carriers.
In a press statement released in Abuja and signed by the association’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ugwu Peter, it noted that the event is part of the activities marking their 2019 Thanksgiving Mass and End of the year party.
He stated that the former Governor of old Enugu State, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo will be the chairman of the occasion while Special Guests of Honour include: Dr Okechukwu Itanyi, Former Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Rt (Hon) Princess Stella Ngwu, Former Honourable Member Representing lgbe-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency, Rt (Hon) Bar. Eugene Odo, Former Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, Barr. Chijioke Edeoga, Commission for Environment Enugu State, Hon (Dr) Emeka Mamah, Commissioner for Rural Development, Enugu State.
Others are Hon. Bar. Peter Okonkwo, Commissioner for Local Government, Enugu State, Hon. Agbo Malachy, Chairman lgbo-Etit LGA, Hon. Ezenta Ezeani, Member Representing Igbo-Etiti East State Constituency.
According to Mr. Ugwu Peter, Ambassador Awards will be given to Maj-Gen. Victor Ezugwu, Dr. (Mrs.) Valeria Azinge (SAN), Hon. Chief Engr. Alfred Ozoemena, Chief Comrade Kenneth lyi, Chef Bar. Emma Nwodo (Eribe Ukehe) Brig-Gen. JOJ Okoloagu (Rtd) (Akwa Akwuru N’Ukehe and Ebekue Dike of Enugwu Ukwu and Umu Nri), Hon. Bar, Chidl Aro, Mr. Uche Aleke (Waymaker), Chief Okwy Aroh and Engr Chukwudl Agujiobi.
The chairman of Organizing Committee, Ugwu Chinonso assured that all is ready for the successful hosting of the occasion and said that most of the invited dignitaries have confirmed attendance.
Chairman of Ukehe United Front, Abuja, Bar. Ifesi Nwodo expressed optimism that the event will be a success saying that the members of organizing committee are capable and up and doing.
