Nigeria@58: AANI celebrates Independence, tasks citizens on patriotism

The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has hailed Nigerians on the occasion of nation’s 58th independence celebration urging citizens to be patriotic.

In a statement released in Abuja by the association Monday and signed by its National Publicity secretary, Dr. Ogbonna Onyeisi urged Nigerians to be patriotic by always putting the nation first in whatever they are doing.



AANI also expressed joy that Nigeria has attained 58th years as a nation living together with her diverse cultural and ethnic compositions saying that Nigeria stands tall today as one of formidable country in Africa and the world.

The association thanked nation’s founding fathers who sacrificed their personal interests and worked together to achieve independence for the country.

It noted that it now behold on all Nigerians to assume responsibility by being patriotic and tolerance maintaining that patriotism is the only sure way to build our country and strengthen her institutions.

His words, “As we celebrate today, there is need for us, Nigerians to reflect on the challenges facing our country and to become committed towards making Nigeria a better society which is the motor of AANI.

“AANI will continue to add value to our country's policy initiation through collaborating with National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS. Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria” the statement concluded.

It could be recalled that Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) is an umbrella association of alumni of National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.
